Destination

1st day Pick up from Athens Hotel - Delphi 

The dream tour begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel or designated meeting point in Athens. Travel by a private comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to Delphi. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of the Delphi Archaeological Site, including the Temple of Apollo, the Sacred Way, and the Castalian Spring. Explore the Ancient Theater and Stadium, then visit the Delphi Archaeological Museum to see treasures such as the Charioteer of Delphi. You will then have a short visit to Arachova, a charming mountain town known for its traditional stone houses and scenic views. Take a short stroll through its picturesque streets and enjoy a coffee or snack before heading to Meteora. 

Before sunset, visit a viewpoint in Meteora, where the monasteries glow against the dramatic rock formations.

The choice of the monasteries relies on opening and visiting hours. Continue to Kastoria, a picturesque lakeside town in northern Greece, renowned for its stunning natural beauty and rich history. Nestled along the shores of Lake Orestiada, the town is famous for its well-preserved Byzantine churches, charming traditional architecture, and the iconic fur trade. Visitors can stroll along the lake, explore the Old Town with its narrow streets and centuries-old mansions, and visit historical sites such as the Byzantine Museum and the impressive Kastoria Castle. With its peaceful atmosphere and scenic landscapes, Kastoria offers a unique blend of culture and nature.

Your day begins with a scenic drive from Thessaloniki to Kavala, a beautiful coastal city known for its mix of ancient ruins and Ottoman influences. Explore the city’s historic sites, such as the ancient Kavala Aqueduct and the Imaret, an Ottoman building that now houses a luxurious hotel. Enjoy a stroll through the charming old town with its traditional houses and panoramic views of the sea. 

Next, head to Philippi, one of Greece’s most important archaeological sites. Visit the ancient city where Saint Paul delivered his first sermon in Europe, and explore the impressive ruins, including the Roman Forum, the Ancient Theatre, and the Basilica of Philippi, which offers a glimpse into the area’s religious significance. 

Continue your journey to Lydia’s Baptismal Site, a deeply spiritual location where Saint Paul is believed to have baptized Europe’s first Christian convert, Lydia. This serene site along the river is a place of reflection and offers a unique historical and religious experience. 

After this enriching day, return to Thessaloniki, where you can continue to explore the vibrant city or relax before concluding your tour.

Your day begins with a drive from Thessaloniki to Veria, a city steeped in both ancient and Christian history. Wander through its charming old town, with traditional stone houses and picturesque streets, before visiting significant sites such as the Byzantine Museum and the Bema of Saint Paul, where the Apostle Paul preached to the people of Veria. 

Next, head to Vergina, the ancient city and royal burial site of the Macedonian dynasty, where you’ll explore the Royal Tombs of Vergina—including the tomb of King Philip II, the father of Alexander the Great. Visit the Archaeological Museum of Vergina, where you can admire the treasures found in the tombs, including golden artifacts and stunning frescoes that provide a glimpse into ancient Macedonian life. 

Continuing on, your tour takes you to Volos, a vibrant port city nestled between the Pagasetic Gulf and Mount Pelion. Known for its lively waterfront, beautiful beaches, and nearby mythical connections, Volos is the perfect place to end your journey. You can explore the bustling harbor, enjoy the local cuisine, and relax at a café while soaking in the panoramic views of the gulf and mountains.

First, visit Makrinitsa, often called the “balcony of Pelion” for its breathtaking panoramic views. Wander through its narrow, cobbled streets lined with traditional stone houses, visit the local museum, and enjoy the serene atmosphere. 

Next, head to Portaria, another scenic village nestled on the slopes of Pelion. Known for its beautiful architecture and the surrounding natural beauty, Portaria is the perfect spot to take a relaxing stroll and enjoy the traditional atmosphere. 

You’ll then continue to Damouchari, a small village by the sea that boasts crystal-clear waters and a peaceful beach. Known for its scenic beauty and as a filming location for the movie Mamma Mia!, Damouchari offers a tranquil escape where you can relax by the sea or explore the surrounding coastal landscapes.  

Finally, you will visit Milies, a historic village with a rich cultural heritage. Here, you can explore the old stone-built houses, the traditional Milies Railway Station, and the local museum that provides insight into the area’s history. You will then return to Volos.

Take the morning ferry back to Volos for your return to Athens. Along the way you will have the chance to visit the historic site of the Battle of Thermopylae, where King Leonidas and his Spartan warriors made their stand against the Persian Empire in 480 BC. You will also have a stop at Kamena Vourla known for its thermal springs and serene atmosphere. Nestled between the foothills of Mount Knimis and the blue waters of the Aegean Sea, this town has been a popular spa destination for centuries. Don’t miss the opportunity to savor the local sweet delicacies like loukoumades and galaktoboureko.
